Turbo-charged, water cooled, four cylinder, direct injection, diesel engine with mechanical fixed speed governor, fitted with replaceable oil, fuel and air filter assembles. Engine shut down protection for low oil pressure, high water pressure and overspeed. The engine-mounted radiator is tropicalised and suitable for high ambient temperature operation. Heavy duty batteries are fitted for key start/stop operation with charging system and battery ammeter.

A brushless self-exciting self-regulating alternator is close coupled to the engine by a steel flange housing and driven through a flexible coupling. The alternator has drip proof air ducts with tropically insulted windings to class H. Voltage regulation under full load is plus or minus 1.5%.

A sheet steel panel is mounted on the generator and complete with volt metre and voltage selector switch, 3 ammeters, frequency meter, hours run meter, oil pressure gauge, engine temperature gauge and battery charge ammeter. Engine protection module with key /auto, start/stop switch and LED displays for engine functions. Overload circuit breaker.

The engine and alternator unit are mounted on a steel fabricated base frame with an integral fuel tank for daily service. Fuel consumption at full load 17.9lt./hr. Totally enclosed in an acoustic canopy, reducing noise levels to 85Dba at 1mtr.
